‘These photographs zoom out and give context. They do not place historical buildings and monuments on a pedestal, but show cultural heritage in its surroundings and its time. They do not reduce the subject to a picturesque postcard that isolates the subject of heritage, but show the wider Limburg landscape, nature and the city, and how man relates to it'. (Nick Hannes)

 From 2016 to 2018 Nick Hannes photographed 122 sites of cultural heritage in 44 villages and cities in the Belgian province of Limburg. This book was commissioned by Public Art Collection Flanders and the Province of Limburg (Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage).
